What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy a process of empowerment.

In a yoga therapy session, the therapist (following an initial assessment), will discuss and collaborate with you to design a specifically unique program using the teachings, tools and practices of yoga. The goal of this personally designed practice, is to move you towards improved health physically, mentally and holistically. Yoga therapy aims to reduce or eliminate the cause of suffering, improve function, manage symptoms/diagnoses and help to prevent onset or reoccurrence of illness.

The practice may include one or more of the traditional yoga tools such as; asana, pranayama (breathwork), meditation, chanting, mantras, visualisations, ayurvedic lifestyle suggestions and rituals. It may also include practices which are creative and unique to the client’s needs. Our therapist Victoria, brings over 30 years of experience working with human movement, rehabilitation, personal training, pilates, restorative yoga and  massage.  You will be in good hands.

A yoga therapist requires a post graduate yoga teaching qualification to learn the specialized skills to support the relationship between the client and therapist. These skills will help facilitate positive changes in an individual. Yoga therapy uses some of the methods and practices of it’s sister science, ayurveda and encourages the development of a personal practice and commitment to living a more disciplined lifestyle for future health. Our therapist Victoria, welcomes everyone. Already working with a diverse range of clients with an equally diverse set of individual needs.

Please feel free to contact Victoria - give her a call, email or message to have a quick chat or arrange a consultation.
